The area of Blessagno is characterized by a varied vegetation: up by woods, down by wide meadows edged by brinks. There are numerous examples of rural architecture and the importance of agriculture is clearly shown by the many vegetable gardens, gardens and terracings close to the houses. The old Roman settlement in the area was proved by a grave found in the hamlet of Lura. Blessagno is mentioned in a 9th century document and was involved in the political and historical events of Como. In the first centuries of the year 1000 it was under the Camuzzi, who depended on Castiglione, but was then given to the Rusca (1425), to the Pusterla (1451) and then again to the Rusca (1459). After the rule of the Sforza, which ended in 1527 with the dictatorship of Giacomo Medici, it became property of the Marliani (1583-18th century). Under the Habsburg dynasty, in the Napoleonic period, it was included in the Lario district and in 1841 in the Como area.
